How interesting and behashgocho protis it was for me to read today from sefer hazichronos of the Frierdike Rebbe (Vol. 2) about Baruch Viazner. There it speaks about how in his desperation for something to be fulfilled, he took upon himself as a penance to fast for 72 hours straight since it's the numerical value of Chesed - Kindness. During this period he didn't sleep nor talk to anyone but just studied Torah and Davened.
I don't suggest for a moment that anyone take on any such fasting especially since it's not our derech, but we certainly can do acts of chesed which relate to the number 72 which is Mommy's age. Why not increase in acts of Chesed-Kindness in her zechus and as a practical suggestion to give tzedokoh in the numerical value of chesed - 72 such as 72 cents to tzedokoh each day during shacharis and before mincha. As mommy is Chesed years old, may she be zocheh right away to be fully healed in a manner that is bChesed UveRachamim - Amen vechain Yehi Rotzon!
